
Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the Heritage Retirement Residence in West Kelowna.
Four staff members and six residents have tested positive for the virus, and IHA says people who came in close contact are self-isolating and monitoring for symptoms.
Heritage Retirement Residence is a private assisted living and independent living residence which is operated by Verve Senior Living. Interior Health says all visits have been temporarily stopped as an added precaution.
Interior Health says it and Verve Senior Living will continue to monitor the situation, while implementing additional infection control and preventive measures, as needed.
Other care homes with active outbreaks in Interior Health are McKinney Place in Oliver which has 73 cases (53 residents and 20 staff) and seven deaths, Village by the Station in Penticton at four cases (two residents and two staff), and Mountainview Village in Kelowna at 14 cases (seven residents and seven staff) with one death.
